The Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party (Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechchasebok Dal), Australia Chapter, has strongly condemned and protested the heinous attack on the organisation’s Central President S. M. Jilani, which took place in his home village while he was on his way to visit his father’s grave.
In a joint statement, Mr. Mashiur Rahman Tuhin, Convener, and Mr. Jahidur Rahman, Member Secretary of the BNP Volunteers Australia branch, expressed deep concern over the incident and stated: “We strongly condemn all evil forces and organised instigators responsible for this incident. Those who are spreading violence among the people must be brought to justice without delay.”
They further added: “Mr. S. M. Jilani is not only the President of the Swechchasebok Dal but also a brave soldier in the struggle for democracy, patriotism, and justice. An attack on him is an attack on the voice of democracy.”
In a separate statement, Mr. Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Joint Convener (Office) of BNP Volunteers Australia, expressed solidarity with Mr. Jilani and wished him a speedy recovery.
The Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Swechchasebok Dal, Australia Chapter, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the democratic movement and called upon all expatriate Bangladeshis to remain united in upholding democratic rights and values.
